The Technics SL-PG490 is a classic, mid-range home audio compact disc player originally released in the late 1990s. Renowned for its reliable build and budget-friendly fidelity, it features Technics’ signature MASH 1-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and is built around a dependable Philips CDM12.1 laser mechanism.

Visual condition:
General: Great condition, some marks to top.
Front Panel: Excellent, a couple slight marks.
Display: Is nice and bright with no blemishes, couple light scratches maybe from polishing.
Included Extras: No remote, no manual. Standard mains lead supplied suitable for this CD player.
Additional Information: Inspected inside for any obvious signs of component parts failing. No original box but we package in strong boxes with polystyrene corners for delivery..
Extra: Has been externally cleaned, inspected inside, and the laser cleaned. Plus the headphone socket and olume control cleaned as were particularly ‘scratchy’ sounding, now plays well vie hedphones directly. Something was broken inside the Digital Optical Toslink connector at the back of the machine and manged to remove it. Might have been part of a TOSLINK Optical Audio Port Dust Cover.
Testing: Fully functional – plays just about all CDs without fuss, including a recently recorded CD-R recordable music disc. Poor condition CDs (scratches you can feel!) will stop this machine, like most others! Also tested with a suitable remote and worked well (not included)
Use: Like most CD players but especially those using the CDM12.1 laser – make sure its on a firm and stable, level surface to avoid any chance of skipping.
