The Technics SL-PG490 is a classic, mid-range home audio compact disc player originally released in the late 1990s. Renowned for its reliable build and budget-friendly fidelity, it features Technics’ signature MASH 1-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and is built around a dependable Philips CDM12.1 laser mechanism.

Visual condition:
General: Excellent condition, some marks to top.
Front Panel: Excellent, a couple slight marks.
Display: Is nice and bright with no blemishes, couple light scratches maybe from polishing.
Included Extras: Power cable only. No remote, no manual.
Additional Information: No original box but we package in strong boxes with polystyrene corners for delivery..
Extra: Has been externally cleaned, inspected inside, and laser cleaned.
Testing: Fully tested with RCA outputs in the small workshop along with all switches and works great. Also tested the digital output. My own workshop remote, (not included!) was used to test the player which responded to all commands. Plays all CD’s that are in good condition without any skipping or distortion.
What to listen out for: If your CD skips, make sure your CD does not have a deep scratch. Light marks and faint scratches should not affect the CD Players performance. If your CD is in great condition but still skips, your CD player may require relocating as it requires a firm, level surface. An unstable or vibrating location easily causes the lasers used in this range of CD Players to skip.
