Vintage, high-quality hi-fi compact disc player released in 1989. Highly regarded for its smooth acoustic profile thanks to Dual Burr-Brown PCM56P-L 20-bit DAC chips (one per channel) combined with a Yamaha SM5818AP 8x oversampling digital filter. This player needs the remote control for one main function as follows: the volume of the analogue line out can be adjusted digitally. Crucially, this can only be done via the remote control. Over time the player goes back to default quiet setting of -50 and may suffer from default low audio output until a universal or original remote raises the volume. (or the remote supplied)

Visual condition: : Great used condition, a few marks here and there, with more on the lid plus a strange circle where the paint has gone extra shiny. Can only been seen from certain angles, could not seem to capture in photos.
Includes: Original remote which is needed for this player! No manual. Standard mains lead supplied suitable for this CD player.
Additional Information: Took out entire loading tray and mechanism, as tray and laser had stuck. Checked belt, was found to be OK. Laser cleaned as we do as a matter of course with all CD Players. Re-set the loading tray and used special grease to make it smooth running. Found wires at back of laser were not in correct position stopping the laser from moving to its start position. With the tray fixed and laser working attention was turned to the RCA terminals which were giving a ‘crackly’ performance. Loads of electric contact cleaner and cotton buds later the sound came back to a great standard.
Testing: Fully functional – plays just about all CDs without fuss, including a recently recorded CD-R recordable music disc. Poor condition CDs (scratches you can feel!) will stop this machine, like most others!
